Here's what I did when I first started learning the harmonica
I'd grown up hearing the harmonica on all my Dad's favourite records but never thought about learning to play.
That is until I was randomly bought a harmonica lesson as a birthday present.
It was such a good lesson and I loved it. But I didn't want to pay for anymore lessons and I figured that, as I was sorta musical, I'd be able to teach myself.
And that's what I set about doing. I was a student at the time and had lots of time on my hands. I enjoyed screeching away on the harmonica but progress was slow and the pace was volatile. Often I felt like I was actually getting worse! Regardless, I kept on practising, messing up, learning, failing etc. and I often contemplated giving up.
After 3 years of stop and start I decided to give lessons another go.
