In today's harmonica lesson we're looking at Hangman Jury by Aerosmith. We cover the rhythmic intro and the famous harmonica solo at the start of the song.
This lesson is aimed at intermediate harmonica players, but I'd still encourage everyone to give it a go and see how you get on. If it turns out to be a bit of a stretch, I'd recommend working through some of my beginner lessons first, then coming back to this one. Click here for my free beginner lessons.
You can follow the tabs with any key of harmonica but you won't be able to play-along with the original track unless you have a G harmonica. If you don't already have a G harmonica, here is a link to one on Amazon (you don't need to use this link; if you do I receive a very small commission at no extra cost to you): https://amzn.to/3Z55kH4
I've tabbed out the whole song for you. You can get the free printable tabs by clicking here.
Grab your G harmonica and let's learn how to play Hangman Jury by Aerosmith.
Here is the official video, should you want to watch it (and play along with Steven Tyler). Remember, you may have been following the tabs in any key of harmonica but if you want to sound like the original track, then you'll need a G harmonica. The song is in the key of D.
I've also created a free guide for you listing all of Aerosmith's harmonica songs and the keys they are in. The guide includes core rules to follow when playing Aerosmith songs on harmonica, as well as harmonica-related FAQs about Aerosmith. You can view the free guide by clicking here.
I hope you enjoyed this free harmonica lesson on Hangman Jury by Aerosmith.
