In today's harmonica lesson, we're learning Workin' for a Livin' by Huey Lewis and the News.
The song has both a great solo and a cool outro. This free harmonica lesson covers both the solo and the outro. I've split the solo into 8 lines to break it down into digestible chunks. The lesson is best suited for intermediate and beyond players.
The tabs for both the solo and outro are on the screen in the video lesson for you to follow. If you want a separate copy of the tabs for Workin' for a Livin' by Huey Lewis and the News then click here. Feel free to print these tabs at home, if that's helpful to you.
You can follow the tabs in any key of harmonica but if you want to play along to the original and be in the same key as me, you'll need a D diatonic harmonica. If you have't already got a D diatonic harmonica, I recommend a Hohner Special 20. You can buy one by clicking here. You don't have to use this Amazon link; if you do, I receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.
Enjoy!
If you want to listen - or play along - to the original, then here is Huey Lewis and the News' official video:
