Jean de Florette Movie Theme | Free Harmonica Lesson & Tabs

Hello! In today's free harmonica lesson I'll teach you to play the movie theme from Jean de Florette / Manon des Source. This was also featured as the theme for a series of famous Stella Artois commercials.

The theme from Jean de Florette is a hauntingly beautiful melody that works wonderfully on the harmonica. The music was composed by Jean-Claude Petit for the 1986 French film, based on the novel by Marcel Pagnol. The film tells a tragic tale of greed, hope, and the struggle for survival in rural Provence (France) and its soundtrack captures the atmosphere perfectly - tender, yet tinged with sadness.

In today's lesson we will break down the melody so you can capture its lyrical, expressive quality on the harmonica. We're using a standard key of C diatonic harmonica, but we'll actually be playing in the relative minor key (A minor) as that's the key of the movie theme.
