Joy to the World | Free Harmonica Lesson & Tabs

Updated: Aug 12

Hello! In today's free harmonica lesson we're learning to play Joy to the World.

Joy to the World is one of the best-known Christmas carols of all time, with a history stretching back over 300 years. The lyrics were written in 1719 by English minister Isaac Watts, inspired by the Book of Psalms, while the melody we know today is often credited to composer Lowell Mason, who adapted themes from Handel’s Messiah.

In this lesson, we’ll learn how to play Joy to the World on the harmonica, step by step. You will need a key of D diatonic harmonica. To buy one, click here. I receive a small commission from Amazon if you buy through the link.

You will need to bend some notes to play this melody. You'll get a video lesson plus a free harp tab to help you along the way.
