'Leaving On A Jet Plane' is a folk/pop classic, originally written by the legendary John Denver and then popularised by Peter, Paul and Mary.
For this song, we'll be playing in first position (aka straight harp) which is the perfect approach for capturing the song's gentle, melodic feel. This style will allow you to focus on playing individual notes cleanly and using subtle phrasing to bring out the song's beautiful story. This lesson is an excellent way to continue developing your tone, breath control, and ability to express feeling through your playing.
You can simply play along with me in the video above, following the free harp tabs on the screen. Positive numbers are blow notes, negative numbers are draw notes.
I hope you've enjoyed this free lesson looking at 'Leaving on a Jet Plane' by John Denver!
