I love speaking to harmonica legends (I feel very lucky that's it's part of my job!) and Lee Oskar is certainly one of the biggest names in the world of harmonica, both for his playing and the harmonicas he makes. Lee Oskar is a Danish-born harmonica virtuoso best known as a founding member of the funk-jazz band War, where his expressive playing helped shape hits like Low Rider (which you can learn with me here) and many others. After leaving War, he went on to record acclaimed solo albums and became a pioneering harmonica designer, creating the Lee Oskar harmonica brand, now a very popular harmonica make known for its alternate tunings - such as Natural Minor and Melody Maker - to make playing expressive scales much easier for all levels of player.
