'Low Rider' by War is one of the funkiest riffs ever to hit the airwaves. It's incredibly catchy. Almost annoyingly so! Originally released in 1975, it’s best known for that instantly recognisable bass line and laid-back groove. On harmonica, we’ll be recreating the horn riff that gives the song its cool, swaggering feel.
I’ll break the lick down step-by-step, show you the bends and articulation that make it pop, and give you tips for locking into that slow, head-nodding rhythm.
The harmonica player with War was Lee Oskar, whom you may be familair with from my harmonica company. You may even play his harmonicas! Click here for my Interview with Lee Oskar
