Mary's Boy Child | Free Christmas Harmonica Lesson

Updated: Aug 11

Hello! In this lesson, we’re learning the Christmas classic Mary’s Boy Child. First recorded by Harry Belafonte in 1956, this beautiful carol has been loved by generations for its gentle calypso rhythm and uplifting melody. A longer version was released in the UK, where it became the first UK number one to have a playing time of over four minutes. The song was later a massive UK hit for Boney M in 1978.

It’s a wonderful piece to play on harmonica – easy to follow, yet full of warmth and joy. Enjoy this Christmas song for diatonic harmonica. You'll get a video lesson plus free harp tabs. Happy holidays!

Thanks for following my lessons. Merry Christmas!
